Born in 1992 and originally from Brittany, Léonard Bougault is a set designer with a

background in architecture. A graduate of Bauhaus University Weimar and Paris-Est, he began his career working in architecture and landscape architecture studios. Over time, his practice evolved into a multidisciplinary approach, extending into scenography for theatre and set design within the fashion industry.

His work explores the dynamic relationship between space and the body, often through illusion and trompe-l’œil. Approaching his craft like a tinkerer or handyman, Léonard draws inspiration from everyday materials and forms found in common spaces, which he reinterprets in abstract and unexpected ways.

His projects have been featured in Double, Dust, POP, and Harper’s Bazaar France

and Italy, and he has collaborated with photographers such as Paolo Roversi, Charlotte Stouvenot, Julien Martinez Leclerc, Willy Vanderperre, Kito Muñoz, and Alessio Bolzoni.

He currently lives and works in Paris.
